PokaYoke, also known as mistakeproofing, is a technique for avoiding simple human errors at work. The idea was originally developed in the 1960s by Shigeo Shingo who was one of the IE engineers at Toyota. PokaYoke's are mechanisms used to eliminate errors by effectively making it impossible to make mistakes in a given process.
