On most looms this catch holds the brake handle in a position that releases the brake allowing the warp beam to turn as the cloth is being advanced. This newer steel catch is much more durable than the older plastic version which tends to break after a certain amount of use. The wood screw used to attach the catch to the loom frame is included.
